Common Screen Questions

Are your screens heavy-duty?

If you're looking for a heavy-duty screen, our 1-piece welded screen is the toughest in the industry. Our slip-fit screens are above-average for durability, and the push-pin screens are average in durability. There are pros and cons for both 1- and 2-piece screens. If you're main goal is durability, a 1-piece screen is the way to go.

Should I buy a 1- or 2-piece screen?

Should I buy a 1- or 2-piece screen?

While there isn't a clear answer to which type of screen is better, there are some differences to consider when shopping for screens. It's important to decide your priorities as far as portability, durability, and cost up front to make the best decision for yourself and your players. You might also take skill level into account as younger players typically don't hit as hard as more advanced / older players. As a general rule, 1-piece screens offer more durability, while 2-piece screens are typically easier to move and less costly.

One-piece screens

These screens have a 1-piece welded steel frame, designed to withstand repeated, high contact.

PROS
  • High Durability
  • Quick Setup
  • Safe for Heavy Impact
  • Less Ricochet
CONS
  • Heaviness / Portability
  • Higher Cost

Two-piece screens

These screens have 2 or more pieces that connect to each other by using push pin or slip fit designs. They are more portable and have a lower price point than 1-piece screens. PROS
  • Portable
  • Lower Cost
  • Easy to Assemble
CONS
  • Less Durable
  • Slower Setup

Why do your screens use round tubing and not square?

Square tubing allows balls to pancake the net, causing them to break at the seams quicker. Our round tubing results in better deflection and longer net life-span.
PROS of Round Tubing

  • Stronger: With the same amount of material, round tubing usually handles higher loads than square. Its continuous curve spreads impact around the entire perimeter, avoiding corner stress points.
  • Bends cleaner. Its uniform cross-section lets you form curves with less distortion (fewer ripples, less buckling).
  • Excellent torsional resistance. Round tube stands up to twisting far better than square, which is why it’s the go-to for high-stress parts like roll cages and axles.

Are they easy to assemble?

Our 1-piece screens require no assembly except slipping the pillow-case net over the frame. Our slip-fit frames match up using color-coded stickers, and our push-pin screens use spring-loaded pins to lock the tubes together. The nets are a "slip-over" style and take less than 1 minute to install.

How do heavy items ship to homes?

Smaller items ship parcel; cages, turf, and some screens ship freight. The carrier schedules delivery; inspect packaging before signing.

Are they weather-resistant?

Our 1-piece screens use aluminum which will NEVER rust. Our other screens are galvanized steel which is also highly weather-resistant. We do not recommend leaving the nets outside in harsh weather.

Are they portable?

Yes—but portability varies by frame type.

  • 1-piece frames: Built for maximum rigidity and daily abuse, so they’re not meant for frequent breakdown. Best for staying assembled (add a wheel kit to roll them around easily).

  • Slip-fit frames: Panels slide apart for transport or storage; typical take-down is about 10–15 minutes.

  • Push-pin frames: Quickest to assemble/disassemble—about 5 minutes—and the easiest to move between fields or into a vehicle.

Tip: If portability is your top priority, choose push-pin. If you want the toughest, leave-it-up option, go 1-piece.
