Unique Baseball Machine Features

The Junior Hack Attack Baseball Pitching Machine is a major-league quality training tool built for serious young players.

The Junior Hack Attack has a unique three-wheel design that allows you to see the ball clearly and fully all the way through the feeding motion, acceleration, and release, just like a live pitcher. Timing and vision are key, especially for young, developing hitters.

With this design, the hitter sees when to stride and the angle of release, giving them an actual live-arm sense of timing and location. The Junior helps turn young, focused players into the “pros” they want to be.

Simply turn the dials to throw major league fastballs and right- and left-handed breaking pitches, including:

  • Curveballs
  • Sliders
  • Split fingers

Also, the three wheels change the breaking pitch plane by simply adjusting wheel speed dials. In contrast, two-wheel units need time-consuming, awkward throwing head adjustments to switch from fastballs to curveballs or right- to left-handed breaking pitches.

The Junior Hack Attack’s elevation adjustment handle will raise or lower the pitch. With a simple turn, move the pitch up or down within the strike zone between pitches. On the other hand, two-wheel pitching machines often need the user to manually release a lock and move the entire throwing head by tilting it. Then, the user needs to lock it back up before use.

Exceptional Pitching Machine Quality

First, the Junior Hack Attack Baseball Pitching Machine is heavy enough to absorb recoil, which ensures accuracy, yet portable and easily moved by one person.

Next, the machine stays stable and safe on pitching mounds and other surfaces with its extra wide tripod base.

Also, the throwing mechanism is well protected. Since the throwing head is made of weather-resistant aluminum casting and high tensile, heat-treated alloy.

On top of that, the powder-coated steel frame is rugged, rust-proof, and withstands many seasons of use. While the Junior Hack Attack’s throwing wheels are fine in direct sunlight (unlike some brands) and they out-last the other pitching machine’s wheels. In fact, we have never replaced a wheel due to wear or heat exposure.

Lastly, the Junior Hack Attack has three strong motors that power three durable, concave 14-inch throwing wheels. These motors also offer variable speeds for more versatile pitching options.

Unique 3-wheel design

Effective, yet Simple

Simply pivot the throwing head for all fungo work, which includes:

  • Deep fly balls
  • Slicing line drives
  • Catcher’s pop-ups with reverse spin
  • Towering infield pop-ups
  • Grounders

With limited throwing head adjustments and almost instant recovery, practice time is spent on practice – not adjustments.

To move the Junior Hack Attack, quickly tilt it, remove the legs from their sockets, then roll the unit on its two, heavy-duty transport wheels (not the throwing wheels). The front wheel guards protect the throwing wheels from the ground. Because of this, the wheels don’t pick up gravel which causes damage over time.

Junior Hack Attack ball change adjustment

Inside/Outside Adjustment

The Junior Hack Attack has an inside/outside adjustment for instant, minute ball location changes at the plate to:

  • easily center the first pitch (no more kicking back leg)
  • allow the operator to move the pitch inside or outside with the turn of a handle

And, when used in combination with elevation control, move a pitch to any area of the strike zone between pitches.

7.5-Inch Vision-Training Ball

The Junior Hack Attack Baseball Machine is the only pitching machine that quickly converts for a special 7.5-inch vision-training ball. As a critical training tool, it’s useful to practice centering and tracking with this unique option.

No assembly is required. The Junior Hack Attack arrives fully assembled and ready for your immediate use.

Ball Types to Use with Junior Hack Attack

To get the most out of your machine, use the balls suggested by the manufacturer. In this case, the manufacturer suggests the following: Baden Kevlar Seamed Ballistic LeatherBaden Dimpled Baseballs, or Baden Dimpled Softballs

Additionally, the Junior Hack Attack pitching machine is designed for use with “real” leather baseballs designed for pitching machines, dimpled practice balls, wiffle balls, and all softer practice balls. Pitching machines are not made to be used with regulation balls, even though many machines can throw these balls. However, regulation balls are not made for machine compatibility and wear down not only your machines but also your balls.
