Before introducing your dog to a ramp, or any agility obstacles, it’s important to consider your dog’s health and temperament. We highly recommend having your pup checked out by their vet to ensure their heart and joints are healthy and ready for exercise. Much like we are advised to check with our doctors prior to new exercise programs.
When introducing your dog to a ramp, start gradually and use positive reinforcement. Begin by allowing your dog to explore the ramp at their own pace, sniffing and investigating it. Encourage your dog with treats and praise, and gradually introduce them to walking up and down the ramp. Patience and consistency are key to helping your dog feel comfortable and confident on the ramp.
