We are of the firm belief that a safer system not only enhances player protection, but also offers quicker drainage, prolonged durability, and environmental preservation.
PowerBase/YSR is made from expanded polypropylene (PPE), one of the most durable polymers on earth. Each panel is molded individually, allowing precise quality control. This results in a field that is flat and consistent underfoot. It is also recyclable without ever losing performance.
A proper artificial sports surface is tuned for the athletes using it. PowerBase/YSR was engineered for schools, recreational fields, and for use with organic infills.
Brock PowerBase YSR has large lateral channels that transport water to the collector system along the edge. Even where the panels intersect, the drainage channels line up, so there is no interruption in water flow.
Panel Dimensions: 73.5″ x 49″ Weight:280 lbs. Order Quantity: 1/2 pallet = 28 panels (555.45 square feet), 1 pallet = 56 panels (1,110.9 square feet)
Stairstep edge supports the player on the turf and prevents shadowing through the turf.
Conical piston shape reacts dynamically to variable running loads for a more natural feel of play.
4mm crush ribs regulate thermal expansion; Accommodates 130-degree change in temperature.
Millions of drain holes on every field line up with channels on the bottom of each pad.
Crush ribs control fit during installation.
Shock absorbing bottom of pad structures.
Drain channels are continuous between panels for water flow.
Large high-volume drainage channels.
All our Brock shock pads are made from expanded polypropylene (EPP). EPP is an extremely durable product that gives our shock pads the perfect balance of safety, durability, and performance. The only thing that negatively affects EPP is long exposure to UV, and since it’s buried under your turf, it’s never exposed to the sun.
Yes, PowerBase/YSR actually has more and larger perforations than the synthetic turf that sits on top. It can handle all the water that drains through the turf, and it can get rid of it quicker. Independent testing shows that PowerBase/YSR drains at over 500”/hour!
Yes, we tested over 125 fields where the turf has been replaced, and the YSR shock padding has been re-used. In all of those cases, the new field’s test results are the same as when originally installed.
Yes, our PowerBase/YSR Warranty allows for load limits that far exceed most turf manufacturer load limits. Additionally, as long as you protect the field with a rigid field protection system, you can host other events, such as concerts and graduations.
Every PowerBase/YSR panel is engineered to withstand the extreme conditions of all climates. Each panel has expansion crush ribs built in to absorb the force of expansion of the panels. Because it is made of one material, we know exactly how much it will expand and contract in the most extreme weather conditions, which is factored into the manufacturing of each panel.

Our 25-year warranty covers the following:
When used with BrockFILL, the warranty covers additional factors.
Every PowerBase panel is engineered to withstand the extreme conditions of all climates. Each panel absorbs the force of expansion due to its built-in crush ribs. Also, we know exactly how much YSR expands and contracts, even in the most extreme weather conditions. So, that is factored into the making of each panel.
Yes, our PowerBase Shockpads Warranty allows for greater load limits than most turf manufacturers. Additionally, if you have a rigid field protection system, then it’s safe for other events, such as concerts and graduations.
Yes, we already have over 100 fields where the turf has been replaced, and the Brock has been re-used. In all of those cases, the new field’s test results are the same as when originally installed.
Yes, PowerBase actually has more and larger perforations than the synthetic turf that sits on top. It handles all the water that drains through the turf, so you get rid of it quicker. Independent testing shows that PowerBase pads drain at over 500”/hour!
We use expanded polypropylene (EPP) for all of our shock pads. Since EPP is an extremely durable product, our shock pads perfectly balance safety, durability, and performance. As for the cons when it comes to EPP, it’s affected by long UV exposure. However, since the EPP is buried under the turf, it’s never exposed to the sun.
A. REPLACING AN OLD, HARD SYNTHETIC TURF FIELD. Using a shorter turf and YSR results in better play and greater safety. It also adds additional drainage to the field for a consistent surface for footing. Add an organic infill and the field will perform like a quality, natural grass one while staying significantly cooler.
B. WHEN BUILDING A PLAYER SAFETY FIRST FIELD.
C. WHEN PUTTING ARTIFICIAL TURF OVER A NON-DRAINING BASE SUCH AS CONCRETE ON A ROOFTOP OR INDOOR FACILITY.
