Brock PowerBase PRO is both a vertical and lateral drainage system. The vertical permeability of PRO is greater than the artificial turf itself, ensuring a dry pitch surface and maximum carpet stability.
The continuous drainage channels provide a fully functional horizontal drainage system that moves water efficiently to perimeter drains and gets the field back to playability fast. Simply put, the Brock drainage system has never failed.

All our Brock shock pads are made from expanded polypropylene (EPP). EPP is an extremely durable product that gives our shock pads the perfect balance of safety, durability, and performance. The only thing that negatively affects EPP is long exposure to UV, and since it’s buried under your turf, it’s never exposed to the sun.
Yes, PowerBase PRO / YSR actually has more and larger perforations than the synthetic turf that sits on top. It can handle all the water that drains through the turf, and it can get rid of it quicker. Independent testing shows that PowerBase PRO / YSR drains at over 500”/hour!
Yes, we already have over 125 fields where the turf has been replaced, and the Brock pad has been re-used. In all of those cases, the new field’s test results are the same as when originally installed.
Yes, our PowerBase PRO / YSR Warranty allows for load limits that far exceed most turf manufacturer load limits. Additionally, as long as you protect the field with a rigid field protection system, you can host other events, such as concerts and graduations.
Every PowerBase PRO / YSR panel is engineered to withstand the extreme conditions of all climates. Each panel has expansion crush ribs built in to absorb the force of expansion of the panels. Because it is made of one material, we know exactly how much it will expand and contract in the most extreme weather conditions, which is factored into the manufacturing of each panel.

PowerBase PRO is specifically engineered for larger athletes (professional and college-level football players). We studied the scaling principle and realized that professional and top collegiate football players produced forces much greater than youth athletes. Therefore, the PROs need a surface engineered specifically for them. So, we manufactured PRO, a denser, firmer product than PowerBase YSR. PRO is firm to run on while still absorbing the forces of larger athletes.

Also, we know exactly how much YSR expands and contracts, even in the most extreme weather conditions. So, that is factored into the making of each panel.

We use expanded polypropylene (EPP) for all of our shock pads. Since EPP is an extremely durable product, our shock pads perfectly balance safety, durability, and performance. As for the cons when it comes to EPP, it’s affected by long UV exposure. However, since the EPP is buried under the turf, it’s never exposed to the sun.
