Gauge

Gauge refers to twine diameter. The thicker the gauge, the more durable the net, the longer the lifespan.

#21 gauge is our minimum recommendation for Little League.

#36 gauge is our minimum recommendation for High School level players.

#42 gauge is our minimum recommendation for University level players.

#48 gauge is a popular all-around choice.

#60 gauge is our minimum recommendation for Commercial use.

Material

There are two types of netting materials used for baseball and softball, Nylon and Poly.

Poly is a plastic based material and generally recommend only for entry level backyard/hobby use and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Nylon is more durable than Poly and our recommended material for serious players. Nylon by itself is recommended for indoor use.

Nylon with Latex is recommended for outdoor use. The Nylon net soaks in a Latex Dip for three days, and dries. The Latex creates a water resistant seal around the nylon.
