Baseball Soft Toss Drill

Soft Toss is a useful drill for any age hitter to practice making correct contact with a ball. Position yourself to the batting side (right for right handed batters) and ahead of the batter. Throw the ball at the hip of the batter. You want a throw that doesn't arc high but isn't too fast. The goal is to have the hitter make contact in front of their body. You want them to impact the ball in front of their body. Practice this to get it correct. You can use normal baseballs or any smaller size ball to help add variety to this drill. Another variation to the drill is to move the tossing position around the batter but still on the opposite side of the batter.
